Serving as a benchmark for quality assurance and institutional accountability, NUC accreditation is a critical process for Landmark University as she presents seven academic programmes due for reaccreditation by the National Universities Commission (NUC) between November 24 and December 13, 2024, in her quest to maintain its status as a centre committed to delivering world-class education and transformative learning. The programmes under review include Industrial Chemistry, International Relations, Microbiology, Business Administration, Accounting, Mechatronics Engineering, and Finance. These programmes have enjoyed full accreditation status with outstanding scores over the past five years.
At the time of this report, three of the programmes had been presented namely; Industrial Chemistry, International Relations, and Microbiology. The NUC-appointed panels, comprising seasoned academics and professionals, evaluated the programmes across critical areas, including curriculum relevance, faculty expertise, infrastructural adequacy, and student performance. During their visit, the NUC teams consistently assured the University’s management of objective and transparent evaluations. Commendations trailed their assessment at the wrap-up sessions, with team members praising Landmark University for its exceptional learning environment, state-of-the-art library facilities with extensive physical and electronic resources, innovative curricula, quality of faculty and staff, and the confidence and excellence exhibited by the students.
Speaking on the development, Landmark University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kolawole Ajanaku, expressed optimism about the outcome of the reaccreditation process. “Accreditation is not just a quality assurance mechanism but an opportunity for institutional growth and we deeply appreciate the NUC for its commitment to promoting quality higher education in Nigeria and for fostering standards that prepare graduates to contribute meaningfully to national development,” he stated. Professor Ajanaku also commended the visiting teams for their professionalism and insights, noting that the feedback would reinforce the institution’s resolve to continuously innovate and provide an enabling environment for academic excellence.
As the reaccreditation exercise progresses, Landmark University remains steadfast in its commitment to raising the bar of excellence towards nurturing visionary leaders and solution providers for societal transformation. The University eagerly anticipates the outcomes, which are expected to further cement its reputation as a centre of academic excellence.
