Landmark University Holds Staff Welcome Assembly for 2024 2025 Academic Session

Landmark University held its annual staff welcome assembly on September 16, 2024, to mark the commencement of the 2024/2025 academic session. The event, organized by the university's management, was not only a gathering of faculty and staff members who were welcomed back to campus from the annual leave but also a setting stage for the new academic year with inspiring speeches and key announcements aimed at motivating the university community.

Addressing the assembly, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kolawole Ajanaku, expressed confidence in the smooth running of the new academic session. He emphasized the university's readiness for the new session, assuring staff that it would be “seamless and stress-free with great testimonies and unprecedented, record-breaking achievements.” Professor Ajanaku acknowledged the leadership of the Chancellor, Dr. David Oyedepo, and the Pro-Chancellor, Pastor (Mrs.) Faith Oyedepo, for their unwavering commitment to delivering quality education. He also extended his appreciation to the Secretary of the Board of Regents, who was recently recalled for a new assignment, for his contributions while in office.

The Vice-Chancellor further commended the management team and the entire university community for their efforts in making the previous academic year a success. He encouraged everyone to strive for even greater accomplishments in the new year, while cautioning against distractions. He stressed that the academic community should prepare for new challenges, outlining key expectations from the staff. These include active subscription to relevant academic platforms that promote both the university and individual faculty members, commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), maintaining a positive work attitude, accountability, and upholding integrity and honesty in all aspects of work.

The Registrar, Engr. Adebayo Ajala, also welcomed faculty and staff back to campus, reminding them of their responsibilities in ensuring a productive and seamless academic year. He emphasized the importance of collaboration and focus in achieving the university's goals.

The assembly concluded with a sermon by the university's Chaplain, Pastor Joshua Popoola, titled "The Power of Self-Motivation in Self-Realisation in a Corporate Vision." In his message, Pastor Popoola encouraged faculty and staff to harness the power of self-motivation to realise their full potential, drawing inspiration from Philippians 4:13 and 1 Corinthians 9:24. He urged them to remain committed, driven, and self-believing as they work toward fulfilling both personal and collective visions within the university.

The Staff Welcome Assembly provided an atmosphere of renewed enthusiasm and dedication, setting a positive tone for the new academic year at Landmark University.
