THOMAS ADEWUMI UNIVERSITY PAYS A COURTESY VISIT TO LANDMARK UNIVERSITY

On Tuesday 11th May 2021, the Vice-Chancellor Professor Adeniyi Olayanju, the Registrar, Miss Fola Oyinloye and other key members of Landmark University Management hosted the Management of Thomas Adewumi University, Oko, Kwara State led by her Vice-Chancellor, Professor K.C Ayorinde. 

Thomas Adewumi University located in Oko, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State obtained its operational license in April 2021 and is set to commence 2020/2021 academic session soonest, as disclosed by her Vice-Chancellor Professor K.C Ayorinde. Hence, the members of Management of the institution were on Landmark Campus, not only to pay a complimentary visit but also to initiate a collaboration move towards improving the quality of education in the country through qualitative and accessible teaching and research in line with SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnership to achieve the goal). 

Elated with the development, the host Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adeniyi Olayanju in his remarks revealed the existence of good relationship between Thomas Adewumi College, the proprietor of the school, Engr. Thomas Adewumi and Landmark University. According to the Vice-Chancellor, both institutions will work in tandem towards attaining the world class status by executing the tripartite mandate of a university for the good of humanity. He thereafter advised the visiting team to passionately drive the university’s vision while calving a niche that would be panacea to some of the challenges besetting the development of the African Continent. 

Professor Olayanju further encouraged them to own, embrace and run with the vision as stakeholders which according to him would enhance their level of productivity. He also urged them to uphold integrity and maintain discipline in all academic and administrative endeavors in the university. 

In her welcome remarks, the Registrar, Miss Fola Oyinloye expressed the University’s delight and willingness to collaborate with Thomas Adewumi University. She advised the team to kick off all academic activities in earnest not minding the challenges they might initially encounter. 

In his response, the Vice-Chancellor Thomas Adewumi University, Professor K. C Ayorinde, appreciated Management of Landmark University for the warm welcome. Professor Ayorinde stated the purpose of the visit - to seek Landmark’s support for the smooth take off of his institution’s academic activities by 16th May, 2021. He expressed his desire for Thomas Adewumi University to take off and join the league of leading private universities after the order of Covenant and Landmark Universities in the country. 

Professor Adeniyi Olayanju gave assurance of necessary support to Thomas Adewumi University. He later led the visiting team on a facility tour to the International Exhibition Center taking them through the 17 SDGs stands. 

The Vice-Chancellor Thomas Adewumi University, Professor K. C Ayorinde’s entourage included the Registrar, Mrs Maria Popoola, the Director of Academic Planning (DAP) Dr. James K. Ishola, Professor Odebunmi Ezekiel, Head of Works Engr. Ilesanmi Tayo, and the Bursar, Mrs. Oni Grace.
