Through a vast display of unique intellectual prowess, Landmark University's debate club representatives, King Oluwatobi Ayodeji and King Ayodele Oloko claimed the 3rd Position at the 2nd Inter-Varsity Debate Competition held at Landmark University on Friday 26th April 2024. Organized by the Landmark University Student Council and sponsored by ALX Africa, the event brought together six (6) universities from southwest and north-central Nigeria to compete in a British Parliamentary-style debate. The competition featured topics spanning technology, governance, and international politics and policies. Despite stiff competition, Landmark University's team remained resolute and focused on the prize. Through their outstanding performance and intellectual views, Kings Ayodeji and Oloko claimed the 3rd position, earning accolades from both judges and peers.

Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kolawole Ajanaku ably represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor John Ojediran expressed delight at the level of participation of the students of Landmark and the quality of debate displayed by all teams. He emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of critical thinking and debate among students, highlighting its role in shaping future leaders and problem-solvers. Professor Ojediran also chaired the event through close monitoring and guidance of the processes. While speaking on the rules of engagement, he encouraged the students to see the Inter-School Debate Competition as a platform to exchange ideas, challenge perspectives, and hone their communication skills. The Vice-Chancellor also appreciated the sponsor, ALX Africa whose representatives were present at the event with cash prizes and a brand-new laptop to further motivate the present and future participations.

As the Landmark University students basked in the success of their team, they extended gratitude to the Landmark University management and the student Council for the initiative and expressed anticipation for future editions of the Inter-School Debate Competition.
