ACTING DIRECTOR PHYSICAL PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT RESUMES OFFICE
On 14th May, 2018, the Management of Landmark University, ably led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adeniyi Olayanju, introduced Arc. Ayotola Olaonipekun as the Acting Director of Physical Planning and Development. His appointment followed the recall of the former Director, Arc. Opeyemi Sina-Olulana to the Proprietor Base on 3rd April, 2018.
Arc. Olaonipekun is an alumnus of Covenant University. His career in the Commission started in the Covenant University Construction Agency (CUCA) and later joined the Directorate of Physical Planning and Development, Covenant University where he served in various capacities. Until his secondment to Landmark University, Arc. Olaonipekun was Deputy Director, Physical Planning and Development, Covenant University.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor reiterated the role of the Directorate as central to the operations of the University. He stated that God engraces all that He called to serve in the Commission, hence his confidence in recording a new dawn order of development and progress with the emergence of the new Acting Director to consolidate and improve on the legacy of the former Director towards the actualization of the University’s vision. “We want to thank the Project Engineer, Engr. Oluwafemi Daodu, for holding forth at that point in time. I boldly say that the little time you spent was tangible. We cannot deny your contributions. With the good report about you, the new Acting Director should be rest assured that he has a good hand to work with,” he added.
In the same vein, the Registrar, Dr. Azubuike Ezenwoke attested to Arc. Olaonipekun’s contributions to the system, noting that: “He has worked very hard and very familiar with the terrain as far as our Universities are concerned. I am confident that many of the things that have been driven in Covenant University will be replicated here at Landmark University.”
In his response, Arc Olaonipekun acknowledged God for providing the opportunity to serve in such capacity while also appreciating the Chancellor and Chairman, Board of Regents for the privilege to serve in the University. Quoting Doug Pederson that “one man can make a difference but a team can make a miracle,” Arc. Olaonipekun emphasized the efficacy of team work while pledging his commitment to his duties towards advancing the vision of the University. “We are here as individuals in different capacities but our holistic goal is to take the University to her rightful place in line with God’s plan. Together we can make a difference. As a Directorate, we recognize that we are one of the containers carrying the content of this University. Our goal is to make sure that the environment is conducive for academic activities, the general wellbeing and the ultimate agrarian vision to be accomplished in no distant time,” he concluded.
