LMU HOLDS RESEARCH BOOTH CAMP FOR MEMBERS OF FACULTY

The University held one day Research Booth-Camp for Members of Faculty in the rank of Assistant Lecturer and below. The event which was themed “RESEARCH WRITING SKILLS AND TRANSFORMATION INTO QUALITY RESEARCH OUTPUT IN CREDIBLE JOURNALS”, had a total of twenty-eight Faculty in attendance.

This was necessitated as the University aims at becoming one of the world’s leading Universities, especially in the area of Qualitative Research and Collaborative Activities. As a University envisioned to restore the dignity of the ‘Black Race’ through qualitative and life applicable training system that is robust for engagement, one of the ways of achieving this is by subscribing to credible journal outlets.

The University Management led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adeniyi Olayanju, through University Research Advisory Board Chaired by Dr. Olufemi Adebesin, believed that to achieve this laudable feat, there is need to align the young Faculty in the University with this mind-set. Subsequently, the salient papers were presented to discuss some essential guides and demands of publishing in such outlets

At the meeting, the Registrar, Dr Azubuike Ezenwoke welcomed all participants to the first edition of the Booth-camp event, while the Vice-Chancellor, charged participants to take full advantage of the programme to enhance their research endeavours. The participants were tasked with the responsibility of ensuring that they publish at least three (3) articles in Scopus Listed Journal outlets before the end of October 2018; so as to be able to the University run with the “200 minimum articles for 2018 mandate on the Scopus platform by the University.
