TEN PROGRAMMES OF LANDMARK RETURN ACCREDITTED BY NUC
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has accredited three new programmes and reaccredited seven existing programmes. In all, ten programmes presented for the accreditation during the October/November 2021 and March 2022 return accredited. The programmes include Computer Science, Biochemistry, Food Science and Nutrition, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Mass Communication, Political Science, Sociology and Mechatronics Engineering.
According to the letter from the Commission’s Executive Secretary, Professor Abubakar Abdulrasheed, signed by the Director of Accreditation, Dr Maryam Sali, only Mechatronics returned with interim accreditation. In furtherance of this, the full accreditation status takes immediate effect and shall be valid for a period of five (5) years – between 2021 and 2026 while the interim would be valid for 2 years. Meanwhile, the technical report of the results revealed that the programmes were not only adequately equipped with up-to-date facilities but also founded on outstanding philosophies which contributed to their high-level performance during the accreditation.
While relaying the good news to the University community at the Tuesday Chapel Service on May 24, 2022, the Ag. Vice-Chancellor Professor Charity Aremu acknowledged God as the One behind the attainment of the feats recorded in the University in recent time. Professor Charity Aremu also appreciated the Proprietor base for creating an enabling ambience for qualitative education. She, thereafter, urged Faculty and Staff to remain committed to giving God thanks always as well as to their responsibilities in order to sustain the success.
The University community appreciated God in songs of praise and dance to God after the announcement. To God alone be all the glory.
