LUSS GOVERNING COUNCIL INAUGURATED

The Management of Landmark University led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adeniyi Olayanju, on Monday 8th of January, 2018, inaugurated the new Landmark University Secondary School Governing Council with a view to achieving continuous improvement in driving its quality education goals.

Inaugurating the Council, chaired by Pastor (Dr) James Ndako, the Vice-Chancellor stated that Landmark University as an educational-cum-spiritual institution values transformation and advancement at all levels, while noting the departure philosophy of the commission to revolutionize the nation’s education landscape to meet global benchmarks.

He advised the newly inaugurated Council not to make the success of their predecessors their yardstick but to scale heights higher than theirs in creating an atmosphere that would hone the academic, moral, spiritual and leadership training of the students. He commended the great deal of progress recorded with the contributions of the Council from inception especially the pioneer and the immediate past members led by Professor Christian Osueke whose commitment to the service was undeniably progressive. He said they have stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the management of the School and the Proprietor base to forge the standard quality the school is reputable for.

“May I reiterate that Quality Assurance protocols and top-rated standard which our great academy is reputable for should not be compromised under any guise as the hope of redeeming the image of the black race rest on our products. As the representative of the Proprietor base, kindly take your responsibility with utmost diligence and high sense of stewardship accountable to God,” he admonished.

He described their new assignment as a higher level of privileged service unto God which he said would bring great returns, stating that “the opportunity to serve is an opportunity to be blessed.” He enthused the onus lies on them to prove their worth by offering reasonable service with direct bearing on the vision of the school and also justifying their nomination which was predicated on sheer reliance on their capability to deliver. He said they should leverage on the ongoing 21 days fasting and praying exercise to ask God for inspiration and direction needed for the task.

After the individual acceptance of responsibilities contained in the Terms of Reference administered by the Registrar, Dr Azubuike Ezenwoke, the Chairman of the Council, Pastor (Dr) Ndako admitted that their appointment was a rare privilege to serve in that capacity and pledged their commitment to serve with all sense of responsibility and diligence to advance the vision to the next levels by the grace of God. He said as a member of the immediate past Council, he commended the leadership for the passion and huge contributions to the LUSS context which he said set a good precedence for smooth operations and administration of the context for the newly inaugurated Council.
