LANDMARK UNIVERSITY RECEIVES NEW FRSC KWARA SECTOR COMMANDER

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Kwara State Command led by the new Sector Commander, Corps Commander Fredrick Ogidan on Thursday 13th October 2022 paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Landmark University, Professor Charity Aremu. The Kwara FRSC new boss stated that the visit was aimed at facilitating a familiarization and further strengthening the relationship between the University and the FRSC in terms of road usage and safety. 

Welcoming the Kwara State Sector Commander and his entourage, the Vice-Chancellor appreciated the team for the familiarization visit and applauded the new Sector Commander’s initiative to further the partnership with the University on road usage and safety. According to the Vice-Chancellor, organizing workshops and seminars on road construction, usage, and quality maintenance should be frequently staged to further enlighten road users thereby ensuring the safety of road users. While assuring them of the readiness of the University to “We thank God for the ambience provided by the proprietor base, we must therefore sustain and build on the standard”.  as she urged them to go beyond Landmark University. 

Earlier the University’s acting Registrar, Mr. Olugbenga Olajide while coordinating the meeting stated that the purpose of the meeting was inspiring and well rolled out to benefit both organizations and the nation as a whole. 

The Sector Commander, Corps Commander Fredrick Ogidan expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor and other members of Management for the warm reception. In his speech, Corps Commander Ogidan eulogized the University’s community for their level of compliance to road safety rules and regulations as he enjoined road users in the community to further adhere to instruction even as the yuletide season approaches. He made known some of the activities of the Corps for the coming ember months’ awareness campaign for road users within Kwara Sector Command. According to him, the aim of the enlightenment campaign is to ameliorate road fatality due to the end-of-the-year rush.
