LANDMARK UNIVERSITY ON STRATEGIC VISIBILITY DRIVE, SETS UP WEB CONTENT DEVELOPMENT TEAM
In preparation to explore the opportunities inherent in the Open Educational Resources (OER) for Nigerian Universities, Landmark University inaugurated a 23-man team for her web content development, comprising enthusiastic representatives from all the departments across the three Colleges, Directorates, and Chaplaincy.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adeniyi Olayanju described the inauguration as a decisive step towards fostering the desired visibility for the University by showcasing her educational, research and community impact drive in the public domain. The Vice-Chancellor emphasized the importance of creating the platform for accessibility, noting that no matter how savvy and resourceful the Landmark University context is, the vision-driven activities might not be duly appreciated if not showcased. He therefore affirmed that “As a University whose eyes is on the global height, we cannot trivialize the import and worth of the prevalent Open Educational Resources (OER) for Nigerian Universities. We are poised to participate in the national ranking of the Open Educational Resources (OER), having had what it takes to be among the first top ten in Nigeria.”
Professor Olayanju congratulated the team on their appointment to drive the laudable agenda. He said Management has selected the team knowing fully well that they have abundant potential and capacity to coordinate the University’s web content development and bring about awesome leap in the University’s ranking status among the comity of Universities. He then urge them to scale up efforts towards meeting the lifeline of participating in the Open Educational Resources (OER) and making a reality of the University’s vision to be a leading world-class University soonest.
Having responsibilities such as gathering of information from the departments for the web, updating Faculty and Staff profile as well as developing relevant content for the OER among others as provided by the Registrar, Dr Azubuike Ezenwoke, the team chorused their readiness to take on the challenge and exert the required sacrifice for the desired result. The team includes Dr. Dunsi – CAS, Mr. Asani – CSE, Dr. Agba – CBS, Mr. Ajiboye – Agric Sci., Engr. Adediran – Mech Eng, Mr. Aregbesola – CLR, Engr. Olalekan – Chem Eng, Dr. Dahunsi – Bio Sci., Mr. Esan – EIE, Mr. Odejimi – Chaplaincy, Mr Emmanuel – CSIS, Engr Modupe – Civil Eng, Engr. Alhassan – ABE, Mr. Olaibi – Student Affairs, Barr. Adekola – Bus Admin., Arc. Uzoagwu – PPD, Mr. Adeniyi – Comp Sci., Dr. Rasak – Sociology, Mr. Oshewolo – Pol Sci & Inter Rel., Miss Popoola – Eco., Dr. Oluyori – Phy Sci., Mr. Ayojimi – Medical Centre, and Mr. Ndupuechi – LUF.
While speaking earlier on the tremendous stride of the University in terms of visibility, the Director of Centre for Systems and Information Services, Engr Oladipo Olaleye relayed that Landmark University website’s popularity and engagement is Number 5 on the Alexa Universities topsites ranking chart in Nigeria. He said the milestone was the result of the commitment of the University Management to sustaining a healthy visibility for the University. He therefore appreciated Management for the continuous support in this regard.
