INVESTMENT ONE FUNDS SEEKS COLLABORATION WITH LMU
On Wednesday 29th November, 2017, representatives of Investment One Funds Management Limited (IOFML) led by the Managing Director, Mrs Tope Omojokun expressed their interest to partner with Landmark University towards improved investment and wealth management in both staff and students of the University. The MD who was in company of other two delegates - Afolabi Olorunfemi: Funds Management Sales (Ilorin) and Omoniyi David-Mosaku: Funds Management Sales (Lagos) were received by Management ably led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adeniyi Olayanju.
While welcoming the team to the amazing Landmark University Campus, the Vice-Chancellor situated the vision of the University as the driving force in the strides the University has made so far. He said both financial and business managements have pivotal roles to play in feasible agripreneuship. He reiterated that the University would continue to pursue her vision unrelentingly by providing the enabling platform for the actualization.
Professor Olayanju remarked that he was not unaware of the impact of IOFML in the Covenant University community. While therefore commending them, he expressed anticipation for a replication of the company’s good works in LMU.
Speaking on their proposal to the University Management, Mrs Omojokun said that IOFML provides investment products that are tailored to meet the unique investment needs and goals of clients which include retail and institutional investors. She said that IOFML currently acts as Fund Manager to three public mutual funds namely; Vantage Guaranteed Income Fund, Vantage Balanced Fund and the Abacus Money Market Fund, and several individual and corporate investment portfolios among which is Covenant University (CU).
She noted with excitement the robust relationship that exists between IOFML and CU, placing particular emphasis on the tremendous impact of the internship/management training programme via the University’s Centre for Entrepreneur Development Studies platform and the huge success recorded in the provision of financial services to the University. She therefore expressed confidence in LMU having shared proprietor base with CU to provide the same enabling platform for the replication of this experience. She highlighted the inherent benefits in the anticipated mutual collaboration for LMU which included facilitating investment seminars for students under the platform of the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Development Studies, offering internship opportunities for students in Finance and Business Courses, providing employment opportunities for Landmark University graduates through a special recruitment programme, organizing investment seminars and workshops for staff, and providing advisory services on the management and administration of the Alumni Trust Fund and Investment options for the Alumni Foundation among others.
