It was indeed a delightsome moment for the University community as the Management received some delegates from the America Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE), Dr. Darrin Drollinger; Indian Society of Agricultural Engineers (ISAE), Professor Indra Mani and Engineer, University of Uyo, Akwa-Ibom, Nigeria, Professor Folarin Alonge from. 

Welcoming them in his office, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adeniyi Olayanju noted that Landmark is a forward-looking and solution-seeking institution that has the potential to save and improve lives by uniting brilliant minds across disciplines to tackle the world’s greatest challenges. In his words, “We are committed to raising a generation of great thinkers and global leaders. In this era when sound academic and moral knowledge drives innovation and development, as the University prides itself in cost-effective leadership training guaranteed along with cutting-edge research engagement and Christian ethos. As a foremost agriculture-based private University in Nigeria, with irrevocable commitment to exploration of hidden treasures in the mother-earth through which restoration of the dignity of the black race is feasible, Landmark University thrives in the strength of the interdisciplinary operational supports and quality collaborations that would be of utmost benefit to the Institution and Nigeria as a whole, and that is what the University is witnessing by receiving delegates from ASABE and ISAE.”

Leading the delegation, Professor F. Alonge appreciated the Vice-Chancellor for the warm reception they received since getting to Landmark. He acknowledged the dedication and passion of the staff to the vision of Landmark University which to him distinguishes the Institution from other conventional Universities. He narrated how he came in contact with ASABE and ISAE, the bodies he described as ever ready to collaborate with Landmark in the area of Agricultural Engineering. He described Landmark as a university that is locally made for global relevance and passionate about bringing in collaborations that would be of mutual benefit to Nigeria.

In his remarks, Professor Indra Mani spoke on the great ambience that Landmark provides. He noted that the vision of the University to produce leaders, problem solvers and world changers resonates with what the Ministry of Human Resource Development stands for in Indian his home country. According to him, Human Resource Development is what Landmark is set out to create for the society. “Congratulations Landmark University for choosing the area of agriculture because others choose other areas like Engineering, Law and Medicine to make money but you chose Agriculture over all that. I congratulate the Chancellor for this noble idea of a university because it has indeed changed my idea of what Africa is.”

In closing, Dr. Drollinger appreciates the Vice-Chancellor for a good work being done in Landmark. He enthused that the byproducts of what is being done in Landmark is research papers that would be turned out in large quantity. He commended the University for the aspiration to be world class and that to him. that would be tremendous for Nigeria but advised the University to practice smart agriculture using modern technology if it must attain this dream.
