LANDMARK WELCOMES NEWLY ADMITTED STUDENTS
On Monday 18th January, 2021, Landmark University opened its gate to receive a large number of new students who have been offered provisional admission for the 2020/2021 academic session into various academic programmes in the four Colleges – Agricultural Sciences, Engineering, Pure and Applied Sciences, and Business and Social Sciences. The new students obviously overwhelmed with joy were seen seated orderly at different designated points for their registration exercise at the school entrance.
The Vice-Chancellor Professor Adeniyi Olayanju who moved round the campus in company of the Registrar, Miss Fola Oyinloye to monitor the resumption exercise expressed delight over the response of the freshers to resumption. While addressing the parents, the Vice-Chancellor appreciated them for their understanding and cooperation by adhering to the resumption guidelines, he assured them that their wards are in safe hands and that the school will never compromise her in loco parentis responsibility to the students.
The Registrar, Miss Fola Oyinloye who also addressed the parents urged them to cooperate with the school authority in raising their wards in the Word of God and excellent conduct that can guarantee holistic success in life, “we want you to cooperate with us as we raise these children so that we will be on the same pace”, she added. While commenting on restricting the parents from entering the University campus, Miss Oyinloye stated that the action was taken to minimize traffic and enforce safety measures against the spread of covid-19.
It is worthy of note that the University Management had put in place safety protocols and seamless registration procedure which have made the whole process less stressful for the students. As a result of the cutting-edge technology and highly skilled human resources in place, the whole resumption process could be done within the first 60 to 80 minutes upon student’s arrival on campus thereby reducing the number of persons at the University entrance.
With the ongoing exercise both old and newly admitted students are expected to be fully settled on campus by the end of the week ahead of the academic activities.
