FINAL-YEAR STUDENT WINS PRICES AT 2023 CODET’S ENGINEERING STUDENTS’ PROJECT COMPETITION
In an impressive display of ingenuity and innovation, Queen Ololade Triumphant, a final-year Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering student of Landmark University has won the third (3rd) position in the Single Category of the prestigious CODET’s Engineering Students’ Project Competition with her innovative project of “A Portable Detachable Groundnut Oil Expeller Machine” at the 31st Council of Regulation for Engineering Practices in Nigeria (COREN) held in Abuja.
Landmark University has consistently demonstrated excellence in this competition over the years, with its students consistently receiving recognition and awards. Queen Ololade Triumphant's outstanding performance earned her several accolades, including a Certificate of Achievement and a cash award of seventy-five thousand naira (N75,000) from the United Bank of Africa (UBA). Additionally, she was presented with a brand new laptop, courtesy of the Association of Professional Women Engineers in Nigeria (MS Haruna Innovation Award), in recognition of her remarkable journey through the competition, culminating in her third-place victory at the national finals.
In his address, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kolawole Ajanaku emphasized that the accomplishments of Landmark University's students at the annual CODET Competition exemplify the university's unwavering commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a culture of creativity and excellence among its students who can positively impact society through their skills and creativity as graduates. He noted the rich investment of the proprietors ably led by the Chancellor, Dr David Oyedepo in the provision of facilities to train the students. He extended his heartfelt congratulations to Queen Triumphant for her exceptional achievement while expressing gratitude to the leadership, faculty, and staff of the College of Engineering for their pivotal role in nurturing and developing the students of Landmark University. He congratulated Queen Ololade Triumphant on her well-deserved achievement on behalf of the academic community.
According to the Dean of the College, Professor Emmanuel Ajisegiri, the milestone not only reflects the dedication and hard work of Queen Ololade Triumphant but also underlines the university's mission to produce innovative and skilled graduates who would contribute significantly to the field of engineering and technology. The Dean, therefore, enthused that her journey would continue to inspire others to reach for excellence in their academic pursuits.
