Landmark University Hosts Senior Executive Course SEC 46 of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies NIPSS
On Thursday, May 16, 2024, Landmark University hosted the Senior Executive Course (SEC) 46 of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru. The visit was a part of the participants’ week-long local study tour. The tour, themed "Digital Economy, Youth Empowerment, and Sustainable Job Creation in Nigeria: Issues, Challenges, and Opportunities," aims to explore critical areas impacting Nigeria’s economic and social development.
The contingent, comprising some top-level officers from the Armed Forces of Nigeria, Para-military Services, Technocrats, and Academicians from the National Institute, was received by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kolawole Ajanaku, and his management team. Earlier, the Management members were introduced by the Registrar, Engr. Adebayo Ajala, followed by the introduction of the NIPSS SEC 46 team by AVM A.I. Adamu, who stated the purpose of the visit. The visit offered opportunity for a highlight of the Landmark University's awesome commitment to exemplifying ICT-driven academic and administrative operations, advancing digital economy principles and measures towards attaining sustainable development goals (SDGs).
The climax of the meeting was the interactive section where the selected Management members attended to the questions asked by some NIPSS participants. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor John Ojediran; Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Emmanuel Ajisegiri; Director of the Centre for Learning Resources, Dr. Ayooluwa Aregbesola; and Director of the Centre for Systems and Information Services, Mr Folarin Oluwafemi, kept the participants abreast of the series of innovations and research outputs across Colleges with resultant accolades, recognitions and awards earned from time to time since the inception of the University.
They informed the participants about the unique digital inclined and realistic curriculum planning, development and implementation praxis in Landmark University that evidently impact positively on the students’ academic and entrepreneurial performance, graduate employability and employers rating in the world of work. Of a great emphasis was the innovative and digital oriented concepts and courses like Coding Techniques, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics, Finance and Technology, Mechatronics and Entrepreneurial Development Studies, whose practical pedagogy and prospect in Landmark University are as inspiring as they are tremendously required for the fast moving digital world. They submitted that the essence of exposing students to the cutting edge ICT driven trainings is to get them well-equipped to meet the demands of the modern digital economy and prepared for the rapidly evolving digital world. The interaction underscored the importance of academic institutions like Landmark University in fostering youth empowerment and creating job opportunities through innovative education and strategic alignment with global economic trends and sustainable development goals quest.
