ECWA SCHOOL OF NURSING SEEKS PARTNERSHIP WITH LANDMARK

As Landmark University continues to position itself as a cynosure of academic excellence for community impact, the Management of Landmark University ably led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Charity Aremu received the Acting Provost of the ECWA School of Nursing, Egbe, Kogi State, Mrs Christiana Maiye and her team on a collaboration visit on Wednesday, 29th June 2022. According to the Acting Provost, Landmark University Medical Centre is one of the centres identified in Omu-Aran, Kwara State for the clinical training of its students being a centre that is well equipped for quality healthcare service delivery. She stated that the Medical Centre together with its personnel had had a great impact on their institution, noting among other things the unrestricted access to the facilities granted the students for their training. She appreciated the University for its position in the training of the students. While disclosing that clinical training is a prerequisite in their curriculum, Mrs Maiye said that her institution would like to formalize their relationship as it would be required most especially for accreditation purposes. 

Addressing the Ag. Provost and her team, the Vice-Chancellor emphasized the importance of training individuals in raising quality manpower for the growth of any organization or nation. While situating the collaboration in the vision of the University as a quest for quality assurance and capacity building, the Vice-Chancellor assured the team of the possibility of the collaboration, noting the University’s commitment to making an impact, especially on its immediate community. She appreciated the team for choosing Landmark University for the laudable relationship. 

In her welcome remarks, the Registrar of Landmark University, Miss Fola Oyinloye had also appreciated the management of the School for identifying the University as one that can add value to them. She noted that it was a validation of the university’s impact on its community. She expressed optimism that the collaboration would be progressive for both institutions. She, thereafter, moderated the interaction between the Landmark and the ECWA teams in furtherance of the collaboration.

In attendance were the Deans of Colleges, CPAS Professor A. Adebiyi; COE Professor J. Ojediran; CBS Dr B. Egbide; DLUCRID Dr A. Adediran; DHS Dr J. Olisa; CIOL Dr O. Asani; and Matron of Landmark University Medical Centre, Mrs Christy Ndako.
