DOF 2022 ORIENTATION FOR SCHOLARS
Over 28 David Oyedepo Foundation (DOF) scholars of Landmark University joined their counterparts in Covenant University virtually for the 2nd Semester Orientation programme for the 2021/2022 academic session on Friday, May 20, 2022. The Landmark University scholars who cut across different levels and departments of the University converged at the University SDGs Exhibition Centre for the orientation programme. The programme is designed to nurture the scholars into leaders who will put their learned skills to work in leading organizations and communities.
While speaking to the scholars, the Director, DOF Mrs Love Ogah harped on commitment to excellence as the bedrock for the realization of their dreams. She urged them to always be good ambassadors of the scholarship programme.
In fulfilling its vision, the programme featured two alumni of the DOF to share their experiences during and after DOF. These were Mr Zebulun Ojo, a pathfinder Class of 2020 and former Student Council Chairman of Landmark University; and Mr Ejiro of Covenant University who stimulated the students with their stories during and after the scholarship towards refocusing the perspective scholars in line with the vision of DOF.
Speaking on the topic, “Life After Graduation,” Messrs. Ojo and Ejiro encouraged the scholars to always seek knowledge, noting that it would not only distinguish them but also help them to maximize opportunities when they come. According to Mr Ojo, DOF helped him to develop his mind and capacity to take up responsibilities. The scholars were thereafter charged to possess a stakeholder and value-adding mentality, uphold high-level integrity and think about creating jobs if they would emerge great leaders.
The scholars also got their leadership tasks for the semester which included community development projects, book reviews, Summer Volunteering Work Experience (SVWE) and craftwork.

CHANCELLOR CHARGES STUDENTS ON TIME MANAGEMENT AS THEY EMBARK ON HOLIDAYS
The Chancellor, Dr David Oyedepo has enthused students of Landmark University to spend the 2023/2024 Omega semester holiday wisely. He gave the admonition during the 2023/2024 Omega semester Closing assembly organized by the management on Friday, July 19, 2024.
During his address, the Chancellor, Dr. David Oyedepo, underscored the importance of time management, emphasizing that while everyone possesses the same 24 hours, the difference lies in how it is utilized. He attributed the challenges faced by many youths to unproductive time management and urged the students to embrace every vacation as an opportunity for personal growth.
“This is your era of preparation for future success,” Dr. Oyedepo asserted. “Fill your time with productive engagements.” He also commended the faculty and staff for their dedication to mentoring and impacting the lives of the students. He, therefore, declared God’s blessing upon the University community.
The closing assembly also featured inspiring addresses from key university officials, with a strong emphasis on time management and personal development. Earlier in the assembly, the Secretary to the Board of Regents, Pastor (Dr) Daniel Rotimi highlighted the significance of gratitude, urging the university community to thank God for all the achievements during the 2023/2024 academic year. Drawing inspiration from 1 Peter 2:9, he reminded the students of their identity as children of God and encouraged them to embrace their status as kings and queens. He also extended appreciation to the proprietors and the Board of Regents for their unwavering commitment to the university’s development.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kolawole Ajanaku, represented by his Deputy, Professor John Ojediran, congratulated the students on successfully completing the Omega semester, marking the end of the academic session. He recapped notable events of the year, including the university's impressive position in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, student development activities like TEDx, the Legacy Conference of LMU student leaders, the Chancellor’s Cup, and the career fair among others. He also highlighted awards received by both staff and students, strategic collaborations to advance the university's vision, and the promotion of academic staff. While looking ahead, he outlined events to conclude the session most especially the "Towards a Total Graduate"—a custom course for the graduating class. He advised non-graduating students embarking on holidays to maximize their time by engaging in productive activities. In his closing remarks, the Vice-Chancellor thanked the management, staff, and students for their contributions to Landmark University's success during the academic year. While wishing the students a safe journey to their various homes, the Vice-Chancellor reaffirmed the University’s continuous commitment to holistic student development and academic excellence.
The Dean, the College of Pure and Applied Sciences, Professor Ayodele Adebiyi gave his goodwill message on behalf of other college deans, bidding their students a safe journey home.
In the course of the event, the 2024/2025 Landmark University Student Council members were unveiled by the Dean of Students Affairs, Dr Abimbola Oluyori. The Chaplain blessed them, commissioning them for the task ahead in the coming academic year.
