LANDMARK UNIVERSITY CELEBRATES 13TH FOUNDERS DAY IN APPRECIATION OF GODS UNWAVERING FAITHFULNESS
On Thursday 21st March 2024, Landmark University celebrated its 13th Founder's Day, marking a significant milestone in its journey of academic excellence and innovation. The event, held on the university campus in Omu-Aran, Nigeria, was not only a celebration of God’s faithfulness and the achievements of the University so far but also marked the official commencement of the Omega semester of the 2023-2024 academic session for the students who resumed the campus on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th March 2024.
The occasion was graced by the Secretary to the Board of Regents (BOR), Pastor (Dr) Daniel Rotimi who delivered the goodwill and blessings of the Chancellor, Dr David Oyedepo and the Pro-Chancellor, Pastor (Mrs) Faith Oyedepo to the congregation. He thereafter led the community in a heartfelt appreciation to God for His faithfulness throughout the university's journey. Anchoring his sermon in the scripture 1 Thessalonians 5:24, Psalms 47:6-7 and 149:1-4, the BOR Secretary emphasized that Landmark University owes God thanks, acknowledging Him as the founder and funder of the institution. While highlighting various blessings by God’s hand, including validating and re-validating the university’s mandate, the university's global impact, supernatural provisions, and peace, he urged gratitude as a means to perfect blessings, silence adversaries and qualify for the next blessing.
In his address, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kolawole Ajanaku also congratulated the university community on the 13th Founder's Day, echoing the blessedness of the university to the world through the Chancellor’s obedience to the call. Also, he expressed gratitude to God for His grace and inspiration upon the Chancellor's vision for the university. While using the platform to welcome the returning students, the Vice-Chancellor encouraged them to stay focused and ready for the tasks ahead in the Omega semester, emphasizing the importance of attendance and adherence to university policies. He also urged them to uphold the royal laws and maintain a spirit of prayer and expectancy for a successful semester.
Other members of the Management, including the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor John Ojediran and the Registrar, Engr Adebayo Ajala also expressed their thanksgiving to God for His continual blessings and guidance upon the University and the proprietor base.
The celebration provided an opportunity for members of the community to testify to God's faithfulness. Representatives from the faculty, staff, alumni, and student body shared their experiences of spiritual and physical growth fostered by their association with Landmark University.
In addition to the thanksgiving service, the 13th Founder's Day was commemorated with a webinar focusing on the actualisation of the university's agrarian vision and novelty games. The games, including table tennis, scrabble, monopoly, chess, ludo, badminton, and opon ayo, brought members of the community together in a spirit of togetherness and celebration.
