LANDMARK UNIVERSITY DON WINS YOUNG RESEARCHERS PRIZE IN CHEMICAL SCIENCES

Landmark University has not only demonstrated that it is an excellent citadel of learning but also its penchant for quality research as its Director of the Centre for Research, Innovation and Discoveries, Professor Adewumi Dada, clinched the 2024 Professor Kayode Adebowale Young Researcher's Prize in Chemical Sciences. This annual award honours exceptional young Nigerian researchers who have made significant strides in the field. Professor Dada's groundbreaking research and contributions to the chemical sciences outshone other numerous competitive applications in this year’s submission.

In the letter announcing his award, the Nigerian Young Academy (NYA) under whose aegis the award was flagged noted that it received many competitive applications that were subjected to a rigorous evaluation process, but that of Professor Dada stood out. The letter further reads that the formal presentation of the award will take place during the opening ceremony of the Nigerian Young Academy's 14th Annual Conference and General Assembly, scheduled to be held at Yobe State University, Damaturu on the 26th of August 2024.

Attributing the success to the university's strong commitment to research and innovation, Professor Dada expressed gratitude to the Proprietors, led by Chancellor Dr. David Oyedepo, for their substantial investment in the institution. He also acknowledged the unwavering support of the university management in realizing Landmark University's vision of becoming a world-class institution.

The Vice-Chancellor Professor Kolawole Ajanaku congratulated Professor Dada on the feat which was the first of its kind in the University. He noted “It is a thing of pride that our faculty members have continued to excel locally and globally, signposting the supportive and thriving academic environment at Landmark University, which encourages its faculty to excel in their careers and contribute meaningfully to their fields. We congratulate Professor Dada and wish him more success in his career. Let this serve as an inspiration for fellow researchers to pursue excellence in their work.”

As Landmark University celebrates this remarkable achievement, it reinforces its position as a leading light in Nigeria's academic landscape.
