FRSC OMU ARAN UNIT COMMAND ON A COURTESY VISIT TO LANDMARK UNIVERSITY NEW MANAGEMENT TO FORGE COLLABORATION

In a bid to further forge collaboration with Landmark University, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Omu-Aran Unit Command recently paid a courtesy visit to the new management of Landmark University ably led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kolawole Ajanaku. 

The FRSC delegation, led by the Unit Commander, Chief Route Commander D.K. Afolabi, engaged in fruitful discussions with the university's management team on proactive safety measures on and around the campus, noting that the safety of road users, particularly within and outside the university campus, is a priority for the FRSC. Chief Route Commander D.K. Afolabi highlighted the importance of promoting a safety-conscious environment among the staff of the University through specialized training of the university staff and drivers on road safety and vehicle education, and ensuring the worthiness of every road user. He also discussed areas of mutually beneficial services between his corps and the university, emphasizing the significance of education (gown) and public service (town) collaboration. Commander Afolabi concluded by expressing gratitude for the contributions of the university to the advancement of his unit and called for continuous support. He prayed that the new management team would be endowed with the required wisdom to take the University to the next level of growth. 

In his response, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ajanaku expressed enthusiasm for the partnership extended to the university by the Corps, acknowledging its pivotal role in promoting road safety nationwide. The Vice-Chancellor noted that the world is symbiotic and in that lies the success of the collaboration between the University and the Corps. He affirmed the commitment of the management and the university to working closely with the Corps to implement safety programmes and initiatives tailored to the university's SDGs drive. Additionally, he assured the Corps of the university's dedication to compliance with the law, aligning with the University’s core values of integrity and responsibility in the community.

Welcoming the RFSC Unit Commander as well as his entourage were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor John Ojediran; the Registrar, Engr Adebayo Ajala; the Director of Financial Services, Mr Kelvin Ibhadore; the Dean of the College of Pure and Applied Sciences, Professor Ayodele Adebiyi, Ag. Dean of the College of Agricultural Sciences, Dr Olayinka Alabi; and the Dean of the College of Business and Social Sciences, Dr Ben-Caleb Egbide.
