LANDMARK WELCOMES RETURNING STUDENTS BACK TO CAMPUS
From Saturday, October 21st, to Monday, October 23rd, 2023, Landmark University swung open its gates to usher in students returning for the 2023/2024 academic session, ranging from levels 200 to 500. This successful resumption process was the culmination of concerted efforts from various stakeholders, including the university's management, expertly led by Vice-Chancellor Professor Kolawole Ajanaku, the dedicated Student Resumption Stakeholder Committee, the diligent staff, and the Student Council of Landmark University. Their presence at the Multipurpose Hall to welcome students, hailing from different corners of Nigeria and abroad, was not only an assurance of warmth but also a declaration that the campus was their home away from home.
In reflecting on this resumption exercise, Vice-Chancellor Professor Kolawole Ajanaku extended gratitude to the Almighty God for ensuring the safe arrival of all the students, emphasizing that divine protection had always guided their journeys. He also expressed his delight at the unwavering cooperation of the parents who entrusted their children to the care of the university. Professor Ajanaku proudly announced that the campus had been meticulously prepared to provide an enriching and memorable student experience. He recognized the invaluable support of the university's proprietor base, led by Chancellor Dr. David Oyedepo, which has consistently fostered an environment conducive to teaching and learning. Furthermore, the Vice-Chancellor lauded the synergy that prevailed among various individuals and departments, underscoring that it was instrumental in ensuring a safe and hassle-free resumption process.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor John Ojediran, also expressed his immense joy at witnessing the return of the students. He emphasized that all university departments, alongside the management team, were readily available to promptly address any issues that might arise and potentially disrupt the resumption process.
The Registrar, Engr. Bayo Ajala, affirmed that the university's management had proactively orchestrated a seamless reception process, an endeavour they continued to improve year after year. He assured everyone of the university's readiness to receive and support all the students throughout their academic journey.
Dr. Abimbola Oluyori, the Dean of Students, underscored that the monitoring and support of students remained a top priority. He reemphasized his directorate's commitment to their well-being while commending his predecessor, Dr Razaq Animashaun, for laying a strong foundation for the ongoing progress.
Students and their parents, appreciative of the resumption process, commended the school's management for ensuring a smooth, efficient, and remarkable student reception and check-in. Their commendation was a testament to the dedicated efforts of all involved in ensuring the students' return to their academic home was met with ease and comfort.
