LANDMARK UNIVERSITY INAUGURATES MORE FUNCTIONAL COMMITTEES
The University Management, ably led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Aize Obayan, is forward-looking in her strides to advance the University to the world-class benchmark as more working committees were inaugurated on Tuesday, 26th April, 2016. To engender more proactive force to accelerate the University’s operations at all levels, the Laboratory Usage and Equipment Committee and Ad-hoc Committee on the Audit of University Facilities were commissioned to drive maintenance, management, proper usage of facilities and make inquiries into ongoing projects to avoid wastage and inadequacies.
The Laboratory Usage and Equipment Committee, on the one hand, is expected to keep an up to date record of the University facilities, draw out policy framework for revenue generation using the University Laboratories and Workshops equipment, while the Ad-hoc Committee on the Audit of the University Facilities on the other hand will audit and provide Management with professional advice on the state of the facilities.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Aize Obayan, inaugurating the Laboratory Usage and Equipment Committee and the Ad-hoc Committee on Audit of University Facilities, advised members to work diligently and clearly articulate the world-class ethics, practices as well as breaking new grounds in their actions. “We are expected to see world-class practices in place, as it will give birth to world-class investment that will lead to world-class products…” She emphasized the need for the committees to come up with strategic plans and diplomatic ideas in terms of usage, durability and efficiency of University facilities. Professor Obayan tipped the Ad-hoc Committee on the Audit of University Facilities to make recommendations for Management to ensure that the facilities remain world class void of any form of substandard and depreciation.
Accepting the assignment with his speech, the Chairperson Laboratory Usage and Equipment Committee Dr. Christian Osueke pledged the committee’s commitments to deliver the task with the standard of God, he attested to the abilities of his committee members as he believe they would make a good team in driving a result oriented committee.
Also speaking, the Chairperson of the Ad-hoc Committee on the Audit of University Facilities, Dr. Oki Makanjuola on behalf of other members, promised to work in tandem with the Institution’s expectations in driving world-class facilities; with the team of Engineers in the Committee he added that, professionalism shall be ensured with high level of sincerity of purpose.
