Engr. Samuel Jacob Aliyu was born in 1959 in Niger State, Nigeria. He obtained a Higher National Diploma in Mechanical engineering in 1986 from Federal Polytechnic, Bida. He obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Thermofluids, Power Plants and Automotive engineering in 2002 and Master of Engineering degree in Thermofluids and Power Plants both from Federal University of Technology, Minna in 2009. He is currently a PhD student in energy studies at University of Agriculture, Makurdi. He is currently a LECTURER ONE in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Landmark University, Omuaran, Kwara State, Nigeria. His research interest is in the area of thermo-fluids. He has previously had some work in automotive engineering.

Aliyu, S.J. is a member of the following professional bodies: Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers (NIMechE), Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Project Management Institute of Pennsylvania and Solar Energy Society of Nigeria (SESN).
