Dr. Michael Sunday Olakune, holds a B.Sc degree (Second class upper) in Industrial Chemistry (1995), PGD (1999) and M.Eng. degree in Chemical Engineering (2001) all from the University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria. He obtained his PhD in Chemical Engineering (2013) at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and currently a Senior lecturer on sabbatical in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Landmark University, Omu-Aran, Kwara State.

Dr. Olakunle is an erudite scholar, whose teaching career started far back in 1997, where he engaged at preparing young secondary school leavers for university admission. He spent years teaching Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at the Senior Secondary school level.

In 2001, on completion of his Master’s degree, he was employed by the Department of Chemical Engineering, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria as a Lecturer II, and rose to the rank of Senior Lecturer in 2011. Dr. Olakunle has research articles published in both local and international journals, and had attended several conferences where he presented scholarly papers. Since his employment, he had participated actively both in teaching and research activities at the undergraduate and post-graduate level. He has taught several chemical engineering and management courses.

Outside academics, Dr. Olakunle is an ordained Pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God. He has pastored several churches within Zaria metropolis with very good testimonies. Dr. Olakunle is also a sport lover with keen interest in football, tennis and athletics. Dr. Olakunle is married and blessed with four children.
