Come Thursday, 3rd July 2014, the first in the series of the University Public Lectures will be flagged off. The event which commences at 2.00 pm will hold in the University Multipurpose Hall.

The Lecture Series is a platform to demonstrate creativity and disseminate research findings, noting the institution’s vision to engender Solution Providers to the myriads of challenges besetting the society. The programme is also in line with the University’s desire at elevating to a higher platform its current town -gown relations, and in the process promoting the positive image of the University.

The speaker, Professor Olusola Omosofe Agbede of the Department of Soil Science of the University and a Fellow of the Soil Science Society of Nigeria, will deliver his paper on “Assessment, Development and Conservation of Soil Fertility: Key to National Food Security.”

The Lecture promises to be impactful and exciting as the academic community plays host to scholars, policy and decision makers and other major stakeholders in the society. Also expected at the Lecture is the Chancellor of the University, Dr. David Oyedepo.
